What Went Down in the Granite State…
Come join Tim and Bill tonight at 9pm Eastern as they talk about the New Hampshire primary.
A.B. STODDARD: Biden’s Low Approval Rating May Not Matter.
PRESIDENT BIDEN’S JOB APPROVAL RATING has plummeted during his three years in office to historic lows—lower than President Obama’s was at this point before he won re-election in 2012, lower even than President Trump’s was in October 2020 before he lost.
The numbers make clear that Biden is a much weaker candidate than he was when he defeated Trump three years ago. It’s unlikely Biden’s approval will recover significantly before November. But—crucially—that doesn’t mean he will lose the election.
A Marist poll last week showed Biden beating Trump in New Hampshire by 7 points, and by 3 points with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. running as a third-party candidate. The president’s approval in the Granite State is a dismal 38 percent.

CATHY YOUNG: Lenin Is Still Dead—or Is He?
SUNDAY MARKED THE HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY of a death that, in its time, reverberated through the world: that of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (né Ulyanov), the leader of the second Russian Revolution of 1917—the “October Revolution”— and the founder and first leader of the Soviet Union. “Lenin is dead, but his cause lives on” was one of the slogans plastered all over Soviet public spaces for much of the twentieth century.
He probably should have gone home to his wife… In 2014, the NYT profiled this Ohio pastor for his protests outside of strip clubs. Six years later, he was there on January 6, and ten years after his first profile, he was found guilty of felonies for it. (h/t Clay Ranck for the quip.)
Karma chameleon… It comes and goes for No Labels, who are being sued by NY donors accusing them of a bait and switch.
