Amazon’s rights to Thursday Night Football cost a billion dollars a year. That’s 62.5 million per game. There is zero chance they make that much in ad revenue each week so the whole thing is a giant loss. Why should consumers continue to pay more for the mistakes executives make? But yeah, I subscribe to Prime for free and same day shipping so it’s not like I’m canceling, and of course they know that. If they ever decouple their streaming it’s getting cancelled first thing.
Dude, that is totally freaking AWESOME that you actually asked Michael Caine about the "Caine/Hackman Theory" from PCU (which is still one of my favorite comedies of all time, and which was terrifyingly prescient about the rise of wokeness and cancel-culture). Now if we could only get an HD release of the movie so I can finally retire my DVD-copy...
I am seriously contemplating cancelling Amazon Prime. I just want free shipping. I doubt I get my money's worth for that. There's very little I want to watch on Prime. If they start forcing me to watch commercials, I will be streaming ZERO shows on Prime.
I remember in the 80’s a time where you did see either of those two in a movie playing and I miss those opportunities. Zulu was incredible and it was Caine’s first movie. Nice article.
