Everything about the tenure of Supreme Court justices is wrong. They get lifelong terms and impeachment is nearly impossible. Thomas is cartoonishly unfit for the job but even his grift won’t do a thing, nor his support for his madwoman wife’s insurrectionism.
And then there’s Barrett, who would probably fail a psychiatric exam. “People of Praise.”
I think the Thomas/Crow scandal is huge and Democrats should do everything in their power to hold him accountable. It probably will come to nothing but that is so wrong. Abe Fortas resigned for so much less than what Thomas has done. Thomas truly acts like he's above the law and it's unacceptable.
We see far too little coverage of almost anything having to do with Africa, including the open warfare currently raging in Sudan. Blinken has said that Africa is a priority for the administration, and I believe him, but I'd like to see more about what State and the Senate are doing to address the suffering on the continent.
I would like to see a story covering the genesis of the relationship between Thomas and Crow. Seems to me Thomas has been played, his ego massaged, managed and manipulated. Another narcissist given power and prestige. Very dangerous.
I would really like to get Thomas under oath to ask if he ever reads briefs submitted for specific cases or does he just tell his clerks to find justification for what he has already decided.
Another fun fact about Supreme Court justices’ congressional testimony: nearly every year two justices testify before the House Appropriations Committee. While the hearing officially covers the SCOTUS budget request, the Committee questions justices on other matters relevant to the Court. It’s one of the few times Members of Congress can formally question justices. It can get interesting.
I don’t know if the Republican-controlled Committee plans a SCOTUS hearing for this year; if I were in their shoes, I’d skip it because of the Thomas controversies. Thomas has testified in the past.
How much longer is Thomas going to get a free pass for blatantly violating Federal laws in his financial statements? Hasn't he "amended" his financials often enough for the world to realize his income reporting is only what he thinks is pertinent, or what he was advised by still unnamed colleagues what wasn't necessary to list? Would he have sent in amended forms if he hadn't been caught? It seems each time he is found out he resubmits.
Enough is enough. Justice (and I use his title loosely) Thomas has shown himself to be not only corrupt, but hypocritical also. He claims he is an Originalist but his views are filtered through his hardcore Catholic upbringing even though only three of the Founding Fathers were Catholic.
IMO, the majority of the American people have had enough of Clarence Thomas - and his wife Ginni too.
Regarding the Thomas- Crow affair, to bad we don’t have Welch saying “Have you no sense of decency? At long last have you no sense of decency?” But I guess that won’t work any more.
There is no question in my mind that republicans will default. It is the only means they have to tank Biden's great economy. It isn't much consolation to what this will do to the country and the world for that matter but maybe just maybe America will finally wake up and crush the GOP.
The best piece of advice I ever got about negotiating or going out on strike was: “you’ve gotta know what you have to have to be able to say you won.” McCarthy and his merry band of nihilists seem to have absolutely no idea.

I'll bet Joe Biden voted for Thomas. I remember him chairing the confirmation hearing.
No judge in Wisconsin would remain seated if engaged in Thomas's improprieties. He lacks personal integrity.
Biden voted for Thomas, didn't he?

Senator Dixon of Illinois I remember.
