We have right around 1000 DVDs/BluRay disc's. Not huge but more than most friends I know. It's all about availability when I'm in the mood to watch a particular movie or series. We've been known to scroll through 5 or 6 streaming services and feel like our kids when they come home, look in the fridge or pantry after we've spent $300 at the grocery store and hear them complain, "there's nothing to eat here." There's always a DVD to watch if we want.

Carrie Coon is about as incredible an actress as it gets. I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. The Leftovers was the best show on TV and it’s not close. The three seasons were all brilliant and Nora Durst was such an incredible character. Going back and rewatching that show during the pandemic was surreal.

I have what I consider to be a "massive" DVD collection. Certainly more than anyone I know personally. I'm lucky because I bought a 4 bedroom house and use one as my storage room. I put those cheap DVD racks around all the walls and filled them up. And yes, I have Dogma on DVD! Alan Rickman was my favorite actor. (Always.)

We have probably 5K DVDs (including Dogma!) which my husband will not let go of, for all the reason Sonny notes. (They're neatly stored in special plastic boxes, stacked to the ceiling in our storage unit.) He's also ripped most of them to a Plex server, so we can access them via the Plex app anywhere we travel.

Can we get some insight on how you organize your collection?

I organize by filmmaker, series, or collection.

I put my Cameron films before the Alien Boxset and then Ridley Scott after. Then I have Blade Runner 2049 and Dune.

I will probably watch "love lies bleeding" as I like noirs and the lesbian angle is always interesting. One of my all-time favorites is "Bound" with Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon.

For instance, good luck finding Polanski's "An Officer and a Spy (J'Accuse) streaming with English subs. It only surfaces on disk, occasionally.
